Community Guidelines
Swipe a Need’s community features are optional. Giving never depends on recognition.
Swipe a Need is not open to the public yet. The app isn’t in the app stores, no requests are live, and payments and payouts are not enabled. This page describes how the service is designed to work. Where a safeguard depends on a provider or approval we don’t have yet, we say so.
Everything is private until you choose
Your public profile, your place in rankings, your amounts and your social links are all off by default. You can turn any of them on or off at any time in Settings & Privacy in the app.
Rankings
- Most Bills Helped ranks people by how many different requests they helped. It never shows how much you gave.
- Top Contributors ranks people by how much they have given. Even if you hide your amount, your place in this list shows how your giving compares with others who join. Choose Most Bills Helped instead if you would rather not show that.
Only gifts that have fully settled count, minus anything refunded or reversed.
Badges
Badges are about how many requests you’ve helped, never how much you gave. A refund can remove a badge.
- First Helping Hand: helped a first request through a gift that has settled.
- Kindness Giver: helped 5 different requests.
- Community Hero: helped 10 different requests.
- Heart of Gold: helped 25 different requests.
- Team Helper: gave through a Giving Challenge organized by someone else.
- Community Builder: organized a Giving Challenge that at least 3 other people gave through.
Profile links
If you choose to share them, you can add up to four links to your public profile, one per service: Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X, LinkedIn or a personal website.
- Links must start with https:// and point to the service you chose.
- Links can’t contain usernames, passwords, custom ports or numeric addresses.
- Swipe a Need doesn’t verify that a linked account belongs to the person sharing it.
Requests
Public requests show only the title, story, first name, city and region, an approved photo and progress. Legal names, addresses and documents are never shown publicly.
