Swipe a Need is not open to the public yet. The app isn’t in the app stores, no requests are live, and payments and payouts are not enabled. This page describes how the service is designed to work. Where a safeguard depends on a provider or approval we don’t have yet, we say so.

Swipe right, or tap Help, to save a request. Saving needs a free account and never charges you.
Choose amounts
Pick $1, $2, $5 or $10, or enter your own amount of at least $1 for each request.
Review and confirm
See the breakdown for every request, then confirm once. Nothing is charged before that.
Clear about what you pay
- No mandatory platform fee.
- You pay no processing fees. Applicable card processing and payout costs are borne by the recipient.
- An optional tip for Swipe a Need starts at $0 and is shown separately before you confirm. It goes to Swipe a Need, not the recipient.
- Gifts are discretionary. Nothing is delivered in return, and gifts are not tax-deductible.
This is how giving will work once payments are enabled. Payments are not enabled yet, and nothing on this website takes a payment.
Private by default
Anonymous to recipients
Donors are anonymous to recipients by default.
Recognition is opt-in
Public profiles, rankings, amounts and social links stay off until you turn them on.
Keep What You Raise
What is raised goes to the request even if the goal isn’t reached. Gifts are never redirected to another request.
